It’s that time of year again! Fireworks, parties, and barbeque, oh my! Below is the schedule for Fair Haven’s 4th of July celebrations.
With the water levels still high for Lake Ontario, contact information for local representatives was requested at the last BSBIA meeting. Please find below several representatives that can be contacted in regards to the damages caused to the shorelines and barrier bar. Photos and videos of the damages are also encouraged.
This year’s meeting for the Blind Sodus Bay Improvement Association will take place at the Shady Shores Campground, June 1st at 9 a.m.
Membership dues for the year are $150 and are being asked for on a donation basis. Dues can be paid at the meeting, online via the Paypal link found on the website, or mailed to the following address:
P.O. Box 100
Fair Haven, NY 13064
Please contact the BSBIA through the website with any questions.
See you all June 1st!
Due to the conflict with Fair Haven’s festivities, Blind Sodus Bay would like to implement our own celebrations as follows:

Sunday, July 1st 2018:
- Boat Parade 11:00 a.m.
- Decorate your boats, paddle boats, kayaks, etc. and parade by our Grand Marshall for prize determination. Tom Agnello will be the Grand Marshall, parade by the round house at the end of the peninsula. Come and join the fun!
Saturday July 7th 2018:
- Fair Haven Fireworks 10:00 p.m.
The follow-up meeting to the annual BSBIA meeting is rescheduled for June 30th at 9 am and will take place at Shady Shores Campground.
New York Sea Grant will be hosting a Shoreline Erosion Management workshop on Wednesday, July 13th, from 9 AM- 12 PM at Sabin Hall, Fair Haven Beach State Park. This workshop will provide a background of costal processes and shoreline management to attendees, as well as conversations on selecting and working with shoreline contractors and the shoreline permitting processes for Lake Ontario. This workshop is free, but registration is required.
For more information, please contact Great Lakes Coastal Processes and Hazards Specialist Roy Widrig at email@example.com or 315-312-3042.
Hello, everyone! We are currently working on several improvements to the website. One of which is creating a shortcut for PayPal on the website. This shortcut will allow members of the BSBIA to pay their dues electronically this year.
We are also working on a new feature for the website, a historical section! It has been decided that due to the fantastic history of our bay, a history page will be put into the works! As such, a formal request is being put forward that if you have any old photographs, memories, or even maps, please send them to the web admin at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will be working on getting this page started around the beginning of June.
Please look for these updates soon; the PayPal will be available before the annual BSBIA meeting in June. Thank you! And as always, if you have any photographs you would like to see posted on the website, please forward them on to the web admin at email@example.com. That page will also be updated around the beginning of June.
