2011 BSBIA Meeting Minutes.

MEETING-JUNE 11, 2011 at SHADY SHORES CAMP GROUND

ELECTION OF OFFICERS

TOM AGNELLO, PRESIDENT

HAL BERNARDI, VICE PRESIDENT AND SOUTH SIDE MEMBERSHIP CORDINATOR

DIANE BANKS, SECRETARY

A NOMINATION WAS MADE BY MR. AGNELLO AND SECONDED BY ONE OF OUR MEMBERS IN ATTENDENCE AND THEN A VOTE WAS CAST- ALL WERE RE-ELECTED FOR ANOTHER ONE YEAR TERM – IT WAS UNIMAMOUS TO KEEP CURRENT OFFICERS.

OFFICER REPORTS

TOM AGNELLO- ADDRESSED UPDATES ON MEMBERSHIP MAILING THAT IMPROVED OUR DONATIONS BY MORE THAN $1000 TO DATE AND SHARED SOME OF THE COORESPONDENCE FROM OUR MEMBERS AND NON MEMBERS, A RESPONSE WILL BE SENT TO THE ONE DISGRUNTLED PROPERTY OWNER. MR. AGNELLO PROVIDED SEWER UPDATES, WATER UPDATES. HE ALSO ADDRESSED THAT THE OFFICERS TIME SPENT IS COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY, RECOGINIZING ALL THAT THEY HAVE DONE THIS PAST YEAR AND THAT THE BOARD COULD USE SOME HELP. MR AGNELLO PROVIDED AN UPDATE ON THE 501C3 STATUS IN THAT MARK PODESH, ONE OF OUR MEMBERS WHO IS ALSO A CPA, IS READY TO FILE THE PAPERWORK TO THE IRS. MR AGNELLO PROVIDED AN UPDATE ON THE DEVELOPMENT PLANS FOR THE 80 ACRES ON THE NE SIDE OF THE BAY.

HAL BERNARDI-ADDRESSED INVASIVE SPECIES- WATER CHESTNUTS AND PURPLE FLOWER WEEDS- WEEDS SHOULD BE HARVESTED AND
BURNED TO FURTHER ANY OTHER GERMINATION- HE NEEDS VOLUNTEERS TO HELP http://www.nps.gov/plants/alien/fact/lysa1.htm

DONNA SIEGFRIED-PROVIDED THE FOLLOWING TREASURES REPORT:

BEGINNING BALANCE – $8178.09

DEPOSITS FOR 2010 $7427.02

DIG COSTS $9267.50

50/50 DRAWING NETTED $ 300.00

2010 BINGO CHALLENGE 20.00

SHADY SHORES CHALLENGED HOLIDAY HARBOR LAST YEAR, 2010 TO A BINGO CHALLENGE AND INDICATED THEY WOULD MATCH WHATEVER HOLIDAY HARBOR BINGO IS ABLE TO PUT ASIDE FROM THEIR GAMES. In 2009 WE RECEIVED ALMOST $2500 FROM SHADY SHORES BINGO. SHADY SHORES AGAIN CHALLENGES HOLIDAY HARBOR IN BINGO CONTRIBUTIONS.

WE HAVE ABOUT $11.,000 CURRENTLY IN THE BANK TO PAY FOR DIGS.

MRS. SIEGRIED ADDDRESSED MEMBERSHIP DUES, MONIES/BILLS SPENT TO OPEN CHANNELAND THECOST ASSOCAITED FOR ADDITIONAL DIGSAND MAINTENCE- 50/50 RAFFLE- THERE WILL ALSO BE A 50/50 DRAWING AGAIN THIS YEAR

DIANE BANKS- ADDRESSED -4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION AND THE POSIBILITY OF DOING A BASS TOURNAMENT FOR OUR BAY TO RAISE MONEY- THE RECEPTION WAS WELL RECEIVED- CHRIS LEE HAS KINDLY EXTENED HIS HELP WITH THIS FUND RAISER.

VOTE OF ADOPTION OF BSBIA BYLAWS AND CONSTITUTION – IT WAS VOTED UNIMOUSLY. SEE WEB SITE FOR DETAILS

CHRIS LEE- CHANNEL UPDATE- LATER DIG IS WORKING OUT. THIS YEARS DIG TOOK TWO DAYS- HIGH WATER IS HELPING. HEAD DEAD NORTH WHEN LEAVING THE CHANNEL ONTO THE LAKEAND- DON’T VEER OFF TO EAST SIDE- PERMITS (DEC) EXPIRE IN SEPTEMBER- ARMY CORP EXPIRES MARCH 2012- GETTING PAPER WORK IN ORDER- TOWN OF STERLING IS LEAD AGENCY

GENE DRASLER- COMMUNICATION/FISHING UPDATE- THE PIKE
FISHING IS VERY GOOD THIS YEAR- BASS FISHING (CATCH AND RELEASE) HAS
BEEN GOOD- PERCH AND CRAPPIE
FISHING HAS BEEN OFF THIS
SPRING. NOTICE LOTS OF GARR SWIMMING IN SCHOOLS

OPEN POSITIONS- IN NEED OF WEST SIDE MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR – TONI SANTOFERRA HAS VOLUNTEERED TO BE OUR
WEST SIDE MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR AND WILL GET HELP FROM KATHY WEEKS.

-IT WAS APPROVED TO ENHANCE OUR WEB SITE TO AD A “FOR SALE” SECTION TO POST ITEMS FOR SALE OR RENT, WITH A PERCENTAGE OF THE PRICE TO BE DONATED TO BSBIA. ALSO A “BLOG” PAGE FOR MEMBER COMMUNICATION AND TO ALLOW FOR PEOPLE TO ADVERTISE YOUR BUSINESS, -FEES WOULD DEPEND ON DOLLAR AMOUNT OF ITEMS SOLD OR RENTED AND SIZE OF BANNER AD AND WOULD BENEFIT ( BSBIA)-NO CREDITCARD PURCHASE-CASH OR CHECKS ONLY

SEWER UPDATE- KIM PARKS WAS UNABLE TO ATTEND- BUT EXPRESSED HER COMMITMENT TO BLIND SODUS BAY WATER AND SEWER PROGRAM-
AT PRESENT THE FUTURE OF GOING FORWARD IS A FEDERAL BUDGET STALL –AS SOON AS MONIES ARE AVAILABLE SHE WILL CONTINUE THE IMPLIMENTATION OF THE WATER SEWER PROGRAM
